Gem Space and C-Wallet have signed a co-operation agreement with the government of Qatar.
At the Web Summit, an international technology conference held in Qatar from 26-29 February, Gem Space showcased its unique capabilities and strategies for transforming the global economy into a digital one.
At the Summit, a very important event took place in the development and scaling of the platform: Gem Space partnered with Qatar's leading fintech startup, C-Wallet, to take money transfer and financial services in the region to a whole new level!
The cooperation agreement was signed as part of the Qatar National Vision 2030 national programme.
Gem Space & C-Wallet have set the course for a strategic partnership. This will allow them to enter the Arab market, the North African market and Qatar as a country leading the digital transformation market.
Gem Space will be instrumental in the expansion of C-Wallet's range of financial services and payment processing technologies.
The agreement, announced at Web Summit Qatar 2024, was signed by Valery Ostrikov, CEO of Gem Space, and Michael Javier, CEO of C-Wallet. The partnership, supported by the Qatar Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Qatar), is an innovative joint venture that will allow C-Wallet to expand its customisable payment processing and e-wallet technologies integrated into Gem Space's SuperApp.
In line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, the partnership aims to drive the transformation of digital services and pave the way for a more efficient and user-centric financial ecosystem.
By integrating transformative financial solutions into the SuperApp, the collaboration will provide Qatari residents with simplified money transfers between individuals and businesses through the C-Wallet platform. It will also offer enhanced international money transfers using Gem Space licences in regions such as Canada and the European Union (EU). In addition, C-Wallet plans to issue debit and credit cards, expanding financial services within the SuperApp, actively supported by the seamless integration of Gem Space.
Valery Ostrikov, CEO of Gem Space, said: "We are thrilled to partner with C-Wallet to bring innovative financial services to Qatar. We hope to reimagine the country's digital landscape through the development of our SuperApp, providing users with a seamless and comprehensive experience and contributing to Qatar's vision of a digitally advanced future."
Michael Javier, CEO of C-Wallet, said: "Our status as a licensed payment service provider and our expertise in fintech, coupled with the global capabilities of Gem Space's SuperApp, will provide users with a range of innovative and secure financial solutions. This partnership is a testament to our unwavering commitment to contribute to Qatar's digital transformation, backed by the significant support of Sheikh Mansour Bin Khalifa Al Thani, and we look forward to expanding financial inclusion through our innovative efforts."
